During World War II, current IEH CEO & President Dave Offerman’s great-great-grandfather Louis Offerman, an inventor and engineer, contributed to the war effort by manufacturing tools and dies for military equipment. After the war, the company transitioned into consumer electronics, producing transistor sockets and, eventually, CRT sockets for televisions—becoming the world’s largest producer of these components in the 1950s.
